it could be because of the cold. the cobalt is famous for squeeking when it's really cold, mine does it and i have stock springs.

did you make sure they were seated properly? if they're seated properly, and everything is tight, and the ride feels fine, i wouldn't worry about it so much. sometimes when you're de-compressing the spring it moves a little bit, throwing off the way they line up.
