Actually yes, disks are better than drums. Disks are superior to drums specifically because they have a larger surface area. That surface area allows for greater cooling capacity and generally a larger pad to rotor contact area. However for everyday driving you would be wasting your money switching to 4 wheel disks. The factory setup handles the road just fine.
