Recently Ive been driving for shorter distances, driving normally, and when I get out I have a weird almost burning smell from under the car. Its not the brakes(Checked all for heat and pulled wheels for inspection). It seems its almost exhaust. Car runs perfect, pulls nicely and still getting 24mpg city. Any ideas?
Sulfur? Mine runs great but get the sulfur smell, an at times it doesn't smell like sulfur..it's weird smell.
an no warning lights or codes..if I take off quickly it's there for sure..but like said sometimes it doesn't smell like the Cadillac convert...it's different...
Yeah it could be the catalytic converter but they usually give a code. Check your air box (if you have one) for animals. And also the cabin air filter probably wasn't changed.. could be that if you smell it inside
na, its on the outside. If you stand in the front or back, you wont smell it at all. only on the sides. So it seems to me that it could be somthing with the exhaust. Im probabally replacing it soon anyway, but Im going to get it looked at,
Ya, jacked the car up and everything, everything was spotless. Cleaned everything off with the hose in my garage and left it in there overnight with the heat on 60ish. Im considering just ignoring it, just wondering if anyone on here had the same problem and found the solution.
Sorry to hear about your smell. I would suggest that you reach out to your Chevrolet dealership and ask if they have any advice. Be sure to keep us posted.
Im going to give the dealer a call. I just looked through the warrenty and Im still covered under the 8 year 80k power train modules and cat converters.
