This Sucks..
Step dad was plugging up my double din dvd today and we got it hooked up to the harness and everything but then we tried to see if it would play before we screwed it back in and there was no sound, so we had this guy come out and look at it and he says that i'm going to have to run speaker wire to each speaker by myself.. any idea why?

It's something with one of the blue wires. Mine was the same way. Its been two years though, so I can't remember which one exactly. But it was factory amp related and one of the blue wires from the harness.

If your car came with the factory pioneer 7 speaker setup, you need to run a wire to tell the amplifier to turn on.

Yep. So, then its the remote wire off the harness to a wire coming off the stock amp.
