Learning is so fun... I never would have though the trunk hatch, which kind of sounds bad because it would seem that might be the most important...

No seriously, I was completely oblivious. I knew it, but it just wasn't coming to mind at the moment...

first post on here, just got an 08 LT. . .anyway I built a competition SQ system in my 01 alero, best advice - read that link for the showdown above, then check out RAAMMAT those other brands are basically just more expensive. I had about 200 sq/ft installed in my alero (roughly 3.5 rolls of it) gutted every inch of my interior.

the process is a mass loading, by adding weight you reduce vibration of metal. there is stuff out there similiar to low expanding foam that people will shoot into every crevice/cavity of the vehicle, on top of that I had a layer of closed cell foam on the floors, roof, inside firewall etc. if your a speed guy maybe you don't want the extra weight. My doors closed with a solid thud! and highway driving with the system off was so quiet.

If your into sound quality, soundstage, competition, as much as you can afford is a good amount. If your into 15" subs and thousand jigawatt amps and no other sound upgrades your facing a losing battle anyway IMO, in that case just turn it up louder and you maybe wont hear all the rattling! (kind of joking)

tell you what, you guys help with my mod questions, and make me smarter, I'll help anyone out where i can with high quality, system setup, been doing it for 15 years. brands I've used: Zapco, Eclipse, Alpine, MB Quart, Rainbow Audio, Morel, Dynaudio, Pioneer Premier, Memphis Audio, Arc Audio, Image Dynamics, Rockford Fosgate, OZ Audio.
