Has anyone looked at the link i put up, I was wondering what people think about that. I am considering getting one, but if its not something that can work with our car, I may have to make some phone calls first.

well my first thread was closed :(

my question on there was whether or not a 07 headunit (with ipod plugin) can be swapped in the place of a 06 headunit. I was referred to this thread, but i didn not see anything that directly answered the question.

my gut tells me that there would be wiring issues that would prevent this from working, but i am hoping i am wrong

I think there is a wiring issue, plus the deck would need to be reconfigured for the new car, if a good way to hook up your iPod is all you want you are probably better off going aftermarket. You will get more flexability of connection, better sound quality and a more convenient control setup with an aftermarket deck

yes there will be wiring issues as the connectors are different, also you would have to have the dealer reflash i believe the BCM(body control module) so it would work with your car. like cullinan said it would be better going aftermarket or you can even get a fm transmitter

to use an 07 radio in an 06 you would need to have 07 radio harness connectors installed in your car. The you would have to have someone with the Tech2(GM scan tool) unlock the 07 radio.

What about getting a 07 6-disc radio / to replace 07 LS radio?

As long as its just the 6disc unit and not a Pioneer unit its a simple bolt in. Youd just need to get it VIN locked to your car by someone with a Tech2.

The Pioneer one wont work because it uses an amp.
