Aftermarket HU with Factory XM?

I was wondering if anyone knows if I can still use my factory XM receiver with an aftermarket HU that is xm ready. Crutchfield says I would have to buy a new XM recevier to still use the service. This seems a little odd to me since the factory receiver is seperate from the factory HU.

That sucks. Oh well. The cost for the xm receiver for the Pioneer HU I want is pretty reasonable. I just figured if there was any way to use my stock xm receiver it would save me a couple of bucks.

BTW. Are the stock rear speakers 6.5" or 6"x9"?
