alternator noise through front speakers

I"m hearing alternator noise through my front speakers. my 4-channel amp is located under my passenger seat of my cobalt. I placed the ground wire to the metal chasis under the cup holder. there are two bolts located there if you pop off the cup holder in the back seat. Is there a better place to ground the amp?

for an amplifier under the seat? yeah

I have been told, you get less feedback from your amp, if the ground is closer to it.

sounds like a bad ground...make sure when you find a good bolt to place it that you grind it a little and clean it before you bolt it down...and try not to put 2 amp grounds near each other or on top of each other. If you do put 2 amp grounds together make sure you have the one w/ the most output on the bottom
