How do you take out the rear speakers in a Cobalt?
 
Yeh I've been trying to take them out but i can't figure out how the cover pops off? do i have to take off the head rests??
this is driving me crazy!!!

you have to take off the rear deck

the link im giving is to remove the rear deck/reupholster it, but after removing the rear deck, simply unscrew only speakers, screw in new speakers make connections and youre good

take off "-" battery connection tho, just in case

there used to be a DYI on here before the site had a crash ...it is definitally a project that took a while and some frustration as well... so just beware

I still have the PDF how-to from Crutchfield, works like a charm, but i'm not exactly sure if i'm allowed to post something that on this site

Yeh I figured out how to take out the rear speakers,
You have to take out the back side two interior covers then take out the head rests. after that is done you should be able to just pull out right out. make sure you pull it towards towards you. The rear speakers are 6x9. I measured them to make sure.
