its going to rattle no matter what, but you can minimize it by covering the metal clips with electrical tape on the deck lid that snap on to the deck. check to see if your spare tire and jack are lose and wrap a towel between them so they're not rubbing against each other. also it would be a good idea to dynomat the trunk lid because the whole thing would rattle and i found out that the 3rd brake assembly rattles like crazy too.
has anyone found a cure for the rear view mirror rattle?

x2
i got no rattels i covered the top and bottom of the rear deck with dynamat extreme, not 1 rattle. If your ever going to dynamat something, that should be the frst spot you do. It imporves sound quality so much, not only from the subs but from the rear speakers aswell. If ur interested in dynamating, its really easy, you just clean the surface with rubbing alcohol, and stick the dynamat to the metal, and use a roller to press it on tight. Get a roller from a hardware store(the roller from dynamat is cheap and will break). And dont buy a trunk kit or anything like that buy it in packages from amazon like this. Amazon.com: Dynamat Xtreme 10455 Xtreme Bulk -- 36 Square Feet, 9 Sheets: Electronics and jsut a heads up, i wouldnt buy it from anywhere buy amazon, its so cheap on there. a trunk kit at best buy will run you like 190$ wheere on amazon ive seen tem for around 80$. BIG difference.

i actually used fatmat off of ebay. got 100 sq. ft for like 120.00 shipped. much better price, and works just as well. its the same thing, though. a great mod if you're going with an aftermarket system

I've used Dynamat in my car, but recently got turned on to Second Skin (Sound Deadening Materials for Noise Reduction from Second Skin). The stuff is pretty amazing and they have a ton of different stuff. We weighed the different brands of deadening over on SD and found the Scosche and Second Skin to be have the most mass, which mean better dampening. I'm getting ready to do my hatch in all SS, but the front of my car is mostly Dynamat.
Not sure if you can do it in your cars without breaking it, but I was able to take my mirror apart and put a little Extreme Dynamat on the inside. Added a bit of weight and kept it from rattling.
