Front speakers not working

So i unhooked my amp powering my front speakers to better conceal the wires and all that. I go and rehook my wires to my amp and my speakers are producing static noises and cutting in and out as if theres a faulty connection. This is really wierd. Do you think my crossovers are faulty or are damaged?
