My Black Friday Special

I have always done the black friday sales at Best Buy but this year I also did Circuit City. I was able to just order all the specials online and pick the items up in the store. I decided to get the sony explode package which contained 2 12" Sony Explode 1000s in a box and a 800 watt amp for $180 which is about half of the retail price.

I used the online fitment guide to make sure the box would fit in my car and it said yes. I got to circuit city to pick it up and found out the packaging around the sub box made the box enormous; it wouldn't fit threw the door of the car. I was like ok no prob, I will just go get my friends truck and come back.

Got the truck and loaded it up and went back home to start the install. I tried the truck opening but that was not going to happen. I then folded down the back seats. That didnt work either. I then tried to remove the lower part of the back seat and fold the top part down, no luck with that either. I ended up having to take the entire back seat out along with the trunk mat to get it to fit.

I got a new wiring kit which came with a .5 farad cap and all the wiring and wired her up. It sounds amazing but I can not turn the amp up at all. The .5 farad cap is not large enough for the 800 watt amp so I am going to have to use if for my interior speakers. If I turned the amp up it was drawing so much power that my car was about to stall out lol.

i know EXACTLY what you mean. check my sig. i got all top of the line pioneer speaker amped. it sounds simply amazing.

as far as the capacitor goes. dont bother with it. they really dont do anything. seriously. dont waste your money. Get an Optima yellow top battery. your better off. youd need like a 10 farad capactior to do something.

either upgrade your battery or get a seperate battery for the system.

I have all aftermarket speakers and headunit. I am running a Kenwood DDX-512 with navigation adapter, AudioPipe 5 1/4 2 way speakers in the front rated for 125W each, AudioPipe 6x9 4 way speakers in the rear rated for 250W each now powered by a 460W amp (did today), and the subwoofers above powered but the amp above.

The kenwood HU only puts out about 40W per channel if that and there was no factory amp. I had the non pioneer setup from the factory.

No that isnt RMS not srue what the value for that is but im gonna guess like 115W RMS per channel. Its only a 2 channel amp and is only powering my rear speakers which are rated for 250W RMS each. The fronts are not amped yet and have an RMS value of 125W each
