cobalt battery?

So I was doing a weight reduction on my car and I took out the spare tire and jack and I noticed while I was at it that their is a battery in that compartment as well however their is also one in the engine?? So the car has 2 battery's? Could someone explain this to me and is it possible to hook up subs amp (when i get them) to the rear trunk battery?

the battery is in the trunk, just fuses and whatnot in the engine bay

i do i just thought the large thing covered in plastic with the red negitive connectior thats rectangulaer box battery shaped was the battery....

That box is your fuse box. The red post on the box is there for you to jump the car or provide a jump if needed. Your only battery is in the trunk.

They located the battery in the trunk for better protection so it wont be exposed to the elements and can last longer and it is a little bit easier to hook up a sub and amp set up cause you dont have to run as much wire.
