IMA is right on about things. SO far, I have picked up two sponsors for my car, and it has taken me a lot of work to get those two. And one of those two was pure luck, they just happened to be looking for a Cobalt when I contacted them. When I look for sponsors, I have a full three page proposal written up, including a full mod list, list of shows I have been two and am going to, etc. One of the most important things to remember is that when you are trying to get sponsored, they are looking at you just as much as the car, if not more. You have to prove to the company that you as a person are worht sponsoring and are not going to make their company name look bad. Your car has to be in show condition at all times, have to attend a ton of shows, and be active it as many parts of the tuner community as possible. These tips were all given to me by a friend of mine that was the president of Team ECI. His MR2 has been featured in a few different magazines, and he had full sponsorships from many companies including Toyo Tires, NX Express, and Meguiars, so he definitely knows what he his talking about. Just my opinion tho.

also, if you want sponsors, maybe start off with small businesses, and work your way up, i have 2 businesses sponsoring me, one parts shop(spent a few thousand there), and an off-road shop(owner is willing to bring out one of the dune buggys for the track when i race, and sport a quad and a dirt bike at my booth for shows.
I got these sponsors just by offering to promote for them, and in return, i get discounts and perks where the sun dont shine!:D

I don't think this should be locked, he is getting some good advise and thats why we are here for. If we just lock a thread every time someone posts something like this, they wont get put onto the right path...
Good luck man, but to get this, you need 3 things Money, Time and Effort....Money: Drop some scratch and show people you are serious about this. Time: Wait for it, it doesnt happen over night. And finally Effort, you need to earn the respect of someone who will then not feel awkward about putting his name on your car. No one wants their name on a car that loses....remember that.

some of the mods you want are not really needed...
and i dont know if you saw my last car(tricked out 2.2l cobalt) but i had a lot of work and money in it, and got it into a lot of big car shows.... and i got one small sponsorship from fidanza for half off a flywheel.... just shows how hard it is to get there
