I would do intake first. I have modded several vehicles: trucks, mustangs, camaros, and now tuners. Intake is always the first thing to do. Get more air and cooler air into the engine and free up some of that horsepower that the stock intake restricts. K&N makes a great product, but you are gonna pay extra for it.

After that, get a free flowing exhaust system, but not too free flowing. There comes a point of diminishing returns if you don't have enough back pressure. On engines this size, I'm gonna guess a 2.25" pipe, 2.5" at the most, would be good. A solid performance muffler, such as a flowmaster 50 series or magnaflow.

For looks, tint is a little that goes a long way. You can get it done for less than $100 at most places for a 4-door. Get the legal max. If you go overboard, you WILL get harassed by cops. Speaking from experience. Rims and low profile tires will be a great addon for after you have done some performance stuff. One thing that is very often over-looked is a good grill. Chrome or black chrome, depending on the color of your vehicle and your personal tastes.

This is just a starting point. There is a lot you can do to these cars. Good luck.

We just got a new G5 coupe - I was shocked at the insurance. We have 4 other cars and the G5 is the most expensive by far - $600 year more than my Miata, which was the most expensive. The agent told me the insurance for a new Vette would be cheaper than the G5.
