Someone mentioned center armrest. It covers the hand brake. So you either have to lift up the armrest to pull/release your handbrake, or you bend your wrist kind of funny (me). I think that is a bad design that I can live with. Maybe it's cost cutting. Maybe it was an afterthought.

Another thing is the power trunk release. It's hidden in the coinbox. Lastly, no locking door fuel door.

Again, I'm only point this out because these are the only negative thing I can find. It may be an issue for you. You decide.

i love the hidden e-brake, messed my dad up when he didnt know where the release was :D

the trunk release is another trick to hide stuff only you want to know about, people cant find it off the hop, they wont try.

as for the locking fuel door, $20 solved that problem with a locking gas cap!

My only problem is reliability. With the number of issues popping up on cobalt forums, it makes me wonder if the cobalt was a design flaw all together????

Sometimes, knowing too much is a bad thing. In my case, I had a Sentra SE-R Spec V. Was on the forums, read about all the problems. Read many discussions on the recalls. I loved that car, but the fear of something going wrong was always in the back of my mind. I traded in for the Cobalt. So what problems did I had with the Sentra? None.

Sure, most Spec V owners beat their cars like they are looking to be on the next Fast & Furious movie. I would say most SS/SC owners do the same too. Who knows.

My take on it is this. You either get lucky or not. If you are lucky, keep it. If not, get rid of it. Don't let stories on the web scare anyone. I would go far as saying consumer reports too. For every one problem on the web, there are thousands without them. Only those who have problems will voice, many will not.

i went and looked in the "lemon-aid, 2007" book at a local book store, and found out the cobalt was rated as "most prone to be a lemon"
