is this true about Ecotec motors

I heard from some other forum that a Ecotec motor can push out 1400 horsepower. How is that even possible?I would think at least 500hp the most on a Ecotec motor.

An Ecotec motor can go as high as you could imagine if you have two things, money, and time. You would have to massively modify the motor in order to achieve that much horsepower, and by then, idk if you could call it an ecotec after that

Yea i think to get that high you would have to modify the block itself and by that point it wouldnt really be an Ecotec. But you can do anything with the right amount of money and expertise.

I do believe what they were trying to say is that the Ecotec motor can safely handle up to 1400 HP because that is true. Now getting it up to 1400 is a whole other story.

i honestly dont believe that the Ecotec can be a 1400 HP machine, when the factory skyline can only tune up to 1000 safely. I just dont get it

My girlfriends uncle is a GM tech that works in the R&D department and he's the one that told me that. So did my instructors at school that are all a part of the GM ASEP program. I'm pretty sure that they know what they're talking about

The pro drag race teams have constructed 1400 hp ecotecs. Just keep in mine that they only run for about 7 seconds at WOT and get rebuilt constantly.

just like any other race car just like he said the engines are damn near fully rebuilt after every run down the track to prevent catastrophic failure. And remember anything is possible.

Gotta remember that its it s such fine deatails getting 1400 hp into a small 4 cylinder..you have to have the whole block blue printed, layed out and everything up to the lil tubes that squirt the oil into the motor redone to handle that
