Removing the seats for wieght reduction seems like a lot of work for very lttle change. I think it is you loose .01 sec for every 100lbs added to the vehicle and the rear seat is damn near wieghtless right??? IMO I would just leave the reasr seat in the car.

I on the other hand WILL NOT be racin due to my massive collection of MDF in the trunk now. hahahaha

also for weight reduction you could get an odyssey battery i think they only weigh like 10 to 14 pounds and if you really wanted to remove the a/c

Have you never pulled them out? Together they're actually heavier then you would think... or so I... think...

But hey, MDF will hurt you in the quarter mile but it keeps your ass on the ground around curves right? ;)

a little bondo, and make that baby a hood scoop!!!!!

i like the redneck method, take a taurus wagon, (now here's the hard part), take a pick-ax, and poke a few "small" holes in the hood, done

or watch this for a demo on turning a wagon into a convertible:

The rear seats and the bracket that holds them actually weight quite a bit. I couldn't tell you how much, but it's over well over 50lbs. There is enough crap in the car (rear seat, passanger seat, spare tire, trunk carpet, etc, etc) to shave a few tenths off the quartermile. Now granted this is extreme for a daily driver but with the help of a friend you can have the car stripped in about 30 minutes for track days.

HAHA! been there but I wasn't going to the track I was just pulling EVERYTHING out to be either painted or reapolstered. That creates a very cold car and it takes a LONG time to heat up.
