Headgasket Project

Well since friday night until sunday night, the headgasket was replaced. The problem was coolant being burned up since a month ago. But the vehicle was drivable in the meantime til I got it fixed today. Take her out for a five-mile test drive my operating temperature is around 199-201 still, sometimes hitting 205. After getting out, opening the garage, and sitting back in 210. Barely normal operating temperature. Coolant level is fine. Another problem is exhaust escaping between the manifold and head. Any reason why I'm running this high?

Not fun at all. Now I see why places charge $1000 to replace the head gasket.

I was even thinking about P&P, but it would be a waste to find out I didn't fix the problem. Got another question, yesterday I full-throttled my car in first gear, and it got up to 5200 rpm, but would not go higher. (Redline for 2.2L is 6500) At this time it momentarily tries to go higher, but something seems like it won't let it, then it'll shift to second. My car lost some balls. It has nothing to do with the tranny.
