Lightbulb ECU Replacement

Does anyone know if there are any chips or places to flash the ECU?

for the 2.2, no not really. there is a piggy back system made by aem for fuel management, but this isnt necessary unless doing extensive mods such as a turbo build. the 2.0 (ss/sc) and the 2.4 (ss/na) have tuning suites such as hptuners to fully reprogram the ecu.

blkbalt06 added 0 Minutes and 40 Seconds later...

you could also look into megasquirt, but i basically know nothing about it.

i know i'm going to get flamed for this but F it.

right now the only thing close to a tune is an ECU "tweak" by CIA/Trifecta...

Megasquirt is great for the enthusiast who is building a weekend racer or track car. It's also not for the beginner so to speak, although it is a great step into the world of stand alones because it's much more user friendly then some other stand alone type systems.

However, someone who is asking the question "are there any chips available" is definitely not ready for something like megasquirt. That's no offense to anyone, but I don't want someone to jump into megasquirt thinking they will be able to tune their car because it's not that easy.

Look into trifecta's. It seems like it's good, but I'd do some more major mods before getting it. Like cams, injectors, and other crap that'll throw a CEL.

there is no need to get "major" mods before he gets the tune. the tune for cams is going to be hella expensive. However expensive it may be "updates" are available through CIA/Trifecta. It sucks but right now is the only thing us 2.2s have. those HPT punks wont step up either so either kill the dash or pay some big $$$
