Bummer

I hate to post this 'news'...and I hope I didn't miss it earlier in the thread, but...

...the Jet PCM Stage 1 or 2 will NOT fit the 2006 2.2l

According to Jet, the '06 2.2l model had a unique 'computer' interface and the module will not attach.

This is true. The PCM will not fit the connector, and if it did it would cover a 2nd connector on the computer block.

Sending it back...bummer...

Heard about this before...Did Jet say they were going to redesign a module for the 2.2 ECM in the near future?

I spoke with a guy at Jet last week.
He said they were going to have a redesign for Cobalts in February.

Sad thing is I already ordered mine.
I am not sure what the redesign was for.
He told me I would have no trouble with it.
I ordered the stage 2 for my 2007 LT.

The module will not fit on the ECMs that have 2-connectors side-by-side.

The modules only appear to fit the ECMs with top-to-bottom connectors.

|||||||| |||||||| <ECMs with this style don't work

||||||
|||||||| <ECMs like this the module fits the center connector
||||||||

Hopefully Jet Chip will redesign the modules for the 2-connector ECMs.

Sadly, I did not look to see what mine looked like.
I thought since it was maunfactured in 2007, I would not have a problem.
I will check it out and hopefully will not have to send it back.

Keep everyone informed of what you end up with -- hopefully a module that works!

I purchased a 2.4L stage 1 module from JEGS ($239) and installed it yesterday. The install instructions are just a generic GM module install and leads you to think the module attaches to the bottom connector -- it goes in the middle of the three connectors. The C1 connector is the smaller top connector, C2 is the middle connector (use this one), and the C3 connector is on the bottom. The C2 and C3 connectors are 73 pin each. One major advantage of the module is that you can take it off and resell it if you trade in or sell your Cobalt -- can't do that with a "tune". "IF" you can find someone that is truly able to tune your Cobalt that probably is the best, the Jet Performance module makes the "average" owner a "tuner".

After install I noticed right away that it runs richer -- can smell it -- and the throttle response out-of-gear (auto) is quicker. Driving the car I get more off-the-line wheel spin then before and the acceleration feels better at part throttle for sure. It seems to go through the gears quicker but I can't prove that yet. Fuel economy hasn't suffered -- my DIC is recording better MPG then before (27.1 Vs 26.9 in-town stop and go driving).

Anyway, for those of you like me -- tuning impaired -- this Jet performance module could be your answer.

Error
Yeah I Have one myself and its great

i noticed when i first put it on the responce was to a hair although chevy cobalts have a electronic throttle the response time even improved.
one big thing to me im tryna figure out is after i installed my headers and replaced the O2 sencer bank 1, connected to the conputer reader it tells me that im running rich bank one so next question is is it the headers thats causing me to run so rich or the headers before i installed the headers it wasnt running rich but the guy i had put the headers in was a dumb ass cuz he sprays break cleaner on the old o2 sencer and says it cleans itwhat an ass but now that i got the new one i have to figure that one out
