When I ordered mine, they told me the stage 2 would function better with the intake and exhaust mods. I know you have both mods. I don't mean anything by the question, I am just new to the mod game.
When I looked into the Jet Chip Modules according to their ads the Stage 2 needed a 160 degree thermostat. My Cobalt runs @192 degrees and I didn't want to change that. Couple that with the fact that the speed limits around my area are mostly 45 MPH I felt the stage 1 was the best choice for my Cobalt.

Interesting... the literature that came with mine says 180 degree thermo. My car was running at 184. I didn't think I needed to switch it out for four degrees.

i was fixing to ask the same question. i had mine installed on the 17th and went across town today and on my way home it came on. i went to autozone and they hooked it up to their comp and it gave 4 things that it could be. I had problems with my fuel injectors back in march and my car has been running great but i have noticed when i idle it seems like its slipping or my injectors might be failing again. i took it to the dealership and showed them what autozone said and of course they said i had to have them run diagnostics and then they would cross reference autozones code with what they find. but either way its gonna cost me 100 bucks to fix it. I told them if it was my injectors again i wasnt paying for it. i'm taking it in tomorrow to be looked at to see whats wrong. I'm also emailing JET customer service and see what they say.

this is what the print out from autozone said.
The power train control module uses the oxygen sensor to calculate the air/fuel ratio of the engine. the computer has recognized a rich or lean condition on one engine bank only. Probable causes
1. If bank one and bank two codes set together suspect fuel pressure or MAF(mass air flow) sensor
2. oxygen sensor defective
3.ignition misfire -repair
4.fuel injector problem

again thats what the print out from autozone said. so it very well may be the module. i really hope not as i dont want to remove my module i love the extra HP it gives me and how smooth my car runs with it. i'll let you know what i find out.

I have not had a CEL since installing the module in my Cobalt in May. Just to make sure it is not your module take it out, clear the ECM of any codes by running an "erase" with a scan tool. If the CEL comes on again then it isn't the module.

yeah in went and took the module out yesterday and left the batt unhooked for about half hour. i ran it and the CEL didn't come on. this morning it did and i haven't put it in,b so now my next question is what can it be i don't know if erasing from the ecu is the same as disconnecting the batt cuz either way the check engine light resets but ima find out today again what it says

I got basically the same reading you had gotten so i dont know if it is the module or not. what mods do you have on your cobalt? all i have is headers straight pipe no cat and cold air intake. i just bought a new O2 sensor a month ago so i dont believe that could be the issue but ima do more research and let you know what i find out.

When the CEL comes on the ECM has stored a code -- that code helps to pinpoint the problem area. Without knowing what the code is there is no way I/anyone on-line can offer any meaningful advice. With the code I can look in the factcory service manual and try to isolate your problem.
If you can afford $60-$80, pick up a scan tool with an erase feature -- then you can take care of your car on your own (read your own codes) .

i know what the code is..P0172 which is bank 1 running to rich. i have someone with a scanner and they did erase it for me today, so now ima see if the CEL comes on again without the module. more then likely i believe it will because I have after market headers on there. Ill let you know what happens later.

It has been over a week now since I installed the stage 2.
I have had no problems or CEL's.
My throttle response is better.
The gas mileage is higher. (better figures in 2500 miles)
