i didnt know msd made a coil pack system?...anybody else?
chances are the jet chip wont support it.(guessing though)
your best bet is to get the mods you want, and order a trifecta tune.
if its not 100 percent effective, they will work with you to fix it.
you wont get that from a drop in chip.

should have been more specific not the coil pack but after i install the multispark unit i need to tune it and i was wondering if the jet would be good enough but i checked out your trifecta tune and that might be a better idea. THANKS

Don't forget that if you need to take your Cobalt in to the dealer for servicing they might reflash it if they have an updated tune -- make sure the tuner that tunes your car will retune it if that happens. I can take the module off and reinstall it anytime -- you'd have to find your tuner and shell out some more money.
I'm reading all this as a new guy here and it's amazing to me how GM never thought of offering this service to people who want to run their cars faster. This "tuning" or "performance dyno" should be offered by the engine maker or car maker, in this case - GM. Here's an example from trucking. My "INTERNATIONAL" heavy truck (the one that pulls a 53 ft trailer on an interstate) has a 15 l diesel engine made by CATERPILLAR (Cat). I can service the truck at either an International dealer or CAT dealer. Generally, CAT guys are much more knowledgeable when it comes to servicing their engine. Also, a few CAT dealers here in Ontario, Canada offer DYNO service to CAT powered trucks. I took my truck there, paid Cnd$800 (appr. US$600) and it's amazing how different the truck pulls/accelerates/drives after the Dyno. I asked the technician to give me more horsepower, better fuel economy and make sure I had plenty of pulling power at low RPM. You get a printout with all the details about the work they did. Here's the kicker: my truck came in with 475 HP at 1,600 RPM; it left the Dyno with 550 RPM at 1,425 RPM. This is what I call professional chip tuning and it's offered by the engine manufacturer! Why can't GM offer something like this to performance enthusiasts?! This could be a great additional revenue stream for them and a source of joy for many Chev Cobalt owners

In 1988 I was at a dragstrip where three Buick Electrical engineers were attending, watching GNs and T-Types race. I asked the engineers why Buick wouldn't produce a prom to make the cars go faster instead of having to go to Jet Performance...Surely they could make it even better.

Their answer was that they were bound by GM requirements, Federal emissions requirements, and could only produce proms that would work with the octane level of fuel owners could expect to buy on the market. The Jet Chip owners were running Avgas to make their cars even faster because the prom would work with it.
