of course there is potential in any car but without the big bucks youre not going to be able to unlock. and considering the aftermarket support isnt really there for cobalts, i say it isnt modder friendly.

imo when gm made the 2.2 and 2.4, there were no intentions of having people mod the hell out of them just strictly by the way it is set up. The people i hang out with drive cobras, a n2o t/a, and a KB n2o gt and the way their cars are setup STOCK from the factory are just WAY more modder friendly in my eyes.

just my 2 cents

I'm not sure what you guys want from the aftermarket. It's all there. CAI, full exhaust components, turbos, suspension components, turbos etc. It really is all there for you guys if you want it. No there aren't 17 different turbo kits but damn it you guys don't need kits. Do the research and you can build your own. For tuning there has always been piggy backs, now granted they aren't as good as tuning suites but you can do it, many have on other cars. The aftermarket follows the money and just saying you want aftermarket won't get the job done. You guys have to prove you want it and that means people are going to have to do it themselves.

As for the Cobras, well yeah duh. lol They are the tuner mustang and are comparable to the SS/SC as far as aftermarket companies are concerned when making parts because they know that's the car most of the guys that want to go fast will get.

I would rather just build my own kit if that is the case since it is cheaper to do,just have to find the right parts, you can get the T3 T4 turbo for a good price for 500 or less.

internal work is to hold more b00st. He has no such type of FI so it really makes no sense

im not saying all the power gains are just coming from upgrading some pistons, and rods etc... but there is internal work you can do to see those gains. granted it takes money but its possible. and you will see a big difference in power gains by simply porting out things on your engine. especially the cylinder heads. which i do for a living and have seen how bad some castings are.

IMA, I know you know some good books on tuning to help me out! What are some good ones?

How to Tune and Modify Engine Management Systems
Amazon.com: How to Tune and Modify Engine Management Systems (Motorbooks Workshop): Jeff Hartman: Books

and

Engine Management: Advanced Tuning
Amazon.com: Engine Management: Advanced Tuning: Greg Banish: Books

Read both of those and you will know your stuff. I'm not saying you will be a master tuner but you will be ahead of most.
