Here she is all ready to go...

So, I finally bought a victory red 2010 Cobalt SS. Been reading the forums. I think all I want to do is: lose the wing and SS badges, have a Stage 1 kit installed, and change to a TWM shifter. I figure this is a reasonable place to stop for a daily driver. I don't really want to break the bank. There's a point of diminishing returns in all performance projects, and I figure that beyond a GMS1 kit, the cost-per-added-horse jumps dramatically. OK, fill me in on what I'm missing, particularly if I'm missing reliability/safety mods. TIA!

PS--At what point in terms of HP are the tranny/engine mounts necessary? I kinda like how smooth the car cruises right now.

I'm looking at changing the headunit in my car for a double din touchscreen cd/dvd, what I want to know is, will it effect the steering wheel mounted controls? For example, I put led's in the 3rd brake light to see if there was a difference, and as I didn't really notice anything, it did stop my cruise control from working, weird. So like I said, is anything going to be effected with this change?

I have a 06 LS with manual everything and I'm sick of it, just sick of it... sooo I figured I'd buy some black LT doors from my local scrap yard with the power window, mirrors, and locks switch in them, only to realize, how the hell would i wire any aftermarket power options to said doors, has anyone done this? I'm not sure how the wiring for the switches or aftermarket powers work so any tips would be great, i'll be doing the install myself so if there is any DIY's that i just cant find that'd be even better.

also in a side note i went to my local dealership and asked if they could install power everything in my balt and that i had the doors and switches, but he said that that was physically impossible, that you cant use OEM power options if u don't already have them....:notrust:.... now i call BS but if u guys have any insight on that that'd be great. Thanks.

I am considering buying ksport lowering springs off of never enough auto and I was wondering what everyones opinion on them are. I know most people recommend ebiach but anyone that has ksport what is the ride like and pics of the drop from them and my biggest question is do you need to make shock limiting straps for them because i heard that with a few brands of springs that if you dont have them the springs are able to just fall out when you put it up on jacks to change a tire or what not

I was originally shopping around for used cars, but I got around 5k knocked off the price with a really low interest rate, so I couldn't pass it up. I'm new to any sort of modding in general, but the first item on my agenda for it is replacing the dome light inside with an LED.

Here are some pictures of it:

Has anyone else noticed how loose the ECM sits in that slot by the fuse box under the hood? I just bought an 09 Cobalt used but with just 5k miles on it, and I am having some misfire/bucking issues. Went under the hood to do a general check, make sure there are no disconnected vac lines or anything, and saw how the computer is mounted. Seems like it will take a lot of unnecessary beating the way it sits in there. Is this normal?

It's weird this only happens when my car has been sitting out in the sun for at least an hour or so. Other than that everything's fine. When I start up the engine it sounds normal for about 3 seconds and then it will make a loud clicking sound that sounds like a diesel engine for about 2 seconds. Then the engine will jerk for a split second. Is this all just because it's hot outside? Like the oil thinning out maybe? It's around 90-100 degrees everyday where I live.
