So, I finally bought a victory red 2010 Cobalt SS. Been reading the forums. I think all I want to do is: lose the wing and SS badges, have a Stage 1 kit installed, and change to a TWM shifter. I figure this is a reasonable place to stop for a daily driver. I don't really want to break the bank. There's a point of diminishing returns in all performance projects, and I figure that beyond a GMS1 kit, the cost-per-added-horse jumps dramatically. OK, fill me in on what I'm missing, particularly if I'm missing reliability/safety mods. TIA!

PS--At what point in terms of HP are the tranny/engine mounts necessary? I kinda like how smooth the car cruises right now.

I have a 06 LS with manual everything and I'm sick of it, just sick of it... sooo I figured I'd buy some black LT doors from my local scrap yard with the power window, mirrors, and locks switch in them, only to realize, how the hell would i wire any aftermarket power options to said doors, has anyone done this? I'm not sure how the wiring for the switches or aftermarket powers work so any tips would be great, i'll be doing the install myself so if there is any DIY's that i just cant find that'd be even better.

also in a side note i went to my local dealership and asked if they could install power everything in my balt and that i had the doors and switches, but he said that that was physically impossible, that you cant use OEM power options if u don't already have them....:notrust:.... now i call BS but if u guys have any insight on that that'd be great. Thanks.

Hello everyone.. I am new here. I am so glad I found this site cause I really need some advice.. I bought my cobolt new in 2006, I have had nothing but problems with it.. I have changed my rotors struts, breaks, had alignment, new tires, new rims.. I am at my wits end.. When I stop or slow down I get a terrible shaking in the steering wheel and I can feel it in the brake pedal. but it doesn't do it if I stop or slow down in a turn. I have taken it to the dealership so much but they always say they cant find anything wrong. Well now I have no warrenty and stupid me didn't purchase the extended one.. Can anyone give me help as to what this might be

Hey all,

Has anyone on here ever turned their 3rd brake light into turn signals? I have searched the threads but can't find anything.

Currently I have 3 x 12 LED wedge base bulbs (921/R12) in the 3rd brake light. What I would like to do is have the outer bulbs as turn signals and brake lights. Looking for a "How To" on the wiring or if it is even possible. There are only 2 wires supplying the power to all 3 bulbs as in the pic below. Anybody know how to set it up like this? I plan to nightshade most of the lens except with an arrow on the left side, an arrow on the right side and the word "stop" in the middle (or something to that effect). I still want all 3 bulbs to light up if I am just stopping but lets say I am turning left - the left bulb would flash while the other 2 bulbs would light up for braking.

My opinion is that this would look good and will do it if possible but will also take into account any "E-pinions" from experience. Here are some pics...

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I believe that's all the mods I'll be doing for this summer. I gotta do SOMETHING with my tails but I want it to be real nice. Probably smoke led tails but I'll modify the inners with LED rings as well. No money for that yet though. Winter's coming fast, and it's not very mod-friendly. Might do some small interior mods but that's bout it. Hopefully get some nice things planned for next summer :D

Hey guys!
I need to know which wire (color) is the DRL wire. I want to disconnect it from my HID's and put only my halo's on it so my HID's do not come on during the day when I put my parking break down. I already have the drl fuse removed but I don't want that, because I want automatic DRL's ( I forget to turn off my Parkin lights since I'm not used to my new retrofits) Thanks guys!

Hey guys i was just wondering how to fully remove dead bugs from the end of the car? I live an hour away from where i work, and the quickest way is all on back roads, so i hit like 18 million bugs on my way to work everynight. I've washed my car several times and tried goo gone but its only worked somewhat.

I read somewhere that taking an unused dryer sheet, running it under water, and rubbing it on your car will take off the dead bugs. Anyone tried this?

I just wanna be able to see my pretty front bumper for once:oh:
