well cause i was looking it up online and some other site said it was illegal in some states....

I don't really see why it would be illegal. I've been to around the US and I've seen plenty of debadged cars around. Maybe it was just recently made illegal in some states???

hey rb513 you said you painted the front and back bowties?

i painted my front one and i want to paint the back one but i don't know how i'll line it back up on the trunk when i'm done

yes i did...i just eyeballed it up...looks great...i should be able to snap a pic on the weekend after i wash it

what is used to get rid of that dealer decal? mine is like so fine it looks painted on...any ideas?

the side molding was a pain to get off its the exact same way to take off everything else i used just soup and water sprayed until soaked and got one of those tint squigies lol and it came off tape and all just took for ever to clay bar all the left over glue

Usually the dealer decal is a vinyl decal and can be removed with your fingernail. Try a corner of one of the letters and see if you can lift it with your fingernail. If you can you can remove the decal by lifting a corner and SLOWLY lifting it away from the paint -- one letter at a time if you have to. Then when you get the letters off use some wax to clean up any residual glue -- plus it help help make it shine when you're done.
