I have a 2006 cobalt ls 2.2 5 speed and my shift light comes on when its in high rpm which i never pay attetion to ive been driving a stick for eight years now and plus the shift light sucks. Practice is the only thing that is going to help Them.

you don't even have to purchase an SS for the lead foot option. I'm 17 and I can speak for myself, just being under the age of 18, no matter what type of car you own, you purchased a lead foot. This coming from an '07 LT owner. But it's all fun

The 2.0 SC does not have the shift light feature.

I want to ask why are you buying such a car for a kid? I'm an adult and I can safely say this car is not something a young person should get. It's got a lot of torque and it's front wheel drive and it will get you in trouble in a big hurry because the front wheels like to skate under boost. I'd seriously consider a none supercharged version.

yeah tell me about it
yeah its a nice car and it is fast but really any car goes 100+ mph its just a matter of how quick you can get there thats why people say oh turbocharged getting it. and if its a first car i don't think he would need a turbo'd car. the LS or LT are fine. and still have a decent amount of torque. yeah not as much as the SS but still

There are alot of other reasons too. Like being tempted to race. With a none souped up version of car it will be less, and he will get less offers. However with the big wing, rims, and SS badge it's going to happen alot more. People go hunting for them.

I love my SS/SC but I wouldn't even consider one for my child.

agreed
if you like the SS but dont need everything under the hood just do conversion kits. yeah u will get offers to race against other SS's and loose but still lol
i dont care would i like a SS yeah but i love my LS for a first car not having any fits about it
people say oh for the amount of money it cost you, you dont even have power locks or windows.
honestly you can get them put in for not even half of the difference in the LT and Ls
decent set of power lock kit can cost you liek 375 ish and windows probally around the same
better than payin the extra few thousand dollars to get the LT

ypu honestly wanna get your kid a FI car, go shopping for an old turbo sprint, what harm can he do in a turbo'd 3 cylinder matchbox????

and btw, i have a Corsica LT, and i love it, i dont need any "Z" series car to enjoy driving(for those years, they hadnt used the SS emblem package, they went with the "Z" series"
