You did a great job with the "winterizing a Cobalt with a block heater and oil pan heater pad. I have a question about the heater pad and the use of Permatex Adhesive. Would you remember the part number or description for the Permatex? I see all kinds when I go to the auto parts store. I see gasket makers, silicone, etc. I see a black Permatex but it doesn't say "sealer" on the package - just a gasket maker.
Also, do you spread the Permatex all over the face of the heater pad, then stick it to the bottom of the pan, or do you just spread the Permatex along the edges of the pan then stick it to the pan so only the edges have Permatex on it and the remainder of the pad is flush against the pan?
You more than likely explained it in your post - but I'm not use to doing mechanic work again. It's been a long time.
Great posting and pictures by the way - absolutely great!

Lol i just was looking on the site and i stumbled onto your thread, i live near taylors falls i've actually seen your car driving around quite a bit. I've got the black sedan with the smashed hood and bumper lol. Do you still happen to have the stock tires and shifter knob? are they by chance for sale? i'll have to check out your car in person some time.

Hey, Im installing led tail lights in my cobalt. I was wondering what size resistor you used to slow down the blinking? And how did you know what size ohm resistor to go with? Thanks!
