Import Wars #3

Second one was yesterday, forgot to post up. Next one is June 7! Saturday, night racing (time trials start around 4pm, eliminations at 7, payouts around 10). Each event has more cars so far, but only 2 events. Lots of Hondas mostly, but a couple Ecotec Caviliers.

My buddy won the Super Street class (15.00 and slower, dial your own et) at the first event in his Neon dialing in at 16.2 (beat one of the Ecotec Cavy's in the final round) and I won yesterday dialing in at 15.1 in my black Neon (best time of 14.972 @ 94.08 mph). Got a check for $200 for winning (entry fee was $45).

Haven't seen any Cobalts out, there was a supercharged Cavilier there yesterday running mid 14's I think.

Come on guys, I know there's a few Cobalts in the Milwaukee area that should go.

Lots of classes.
Super Street (15.00 and slower)
Super Mod (13.00 and slower, Supercharged Cobalts here?)
Super Quick (12.99 and faster, I think these guys do qualifying rounds to get there dial-in)
Pro-FWD (the dude that won yesterday ran 10.8 in finals, haven't seen any Cobalts that would compete here ever)
Pro-Outlaw (yeah, they run like 9's).

Great Lakes Dragaway

Points standings at bottom, my name should pop up when they update it

Super Street is for cars running 15.00 and slower. Unless it's heavily modded or supercharged, most Cobalts will fall in that class. Hell I've only seen one supercharged cobalt break 14's in person so most Cobalts would be in super street.

Go anyways, most of the cars in Super Street are stock or close to stock. Mine has just an exhaust system, intake, and alot of shit removed. My buddy won the first event in his bone stock Neon. It's bracket racing, so how fast your car is doesn't matter, it's how consistent you are. Round 1 I had to wait 1.8 seconds before I could go cuz the Civic I raced dialed in at 16.9 seconds and I was at 15.1.

Sweet, the more the merrier. I'm tied for 3rd right now in points for our class. Would be tied for first but less people showed up at the 2nd one so I only went 4 rounds (felt like 5 lol). My buddy is tied for 1st and of course I hear about that, even though I remind him he had 2 bye rounds. Oh well, next one is only 8 days away, coming up fast!

I finally replaced the ball joint and wheel bearing on the passenger side of the car, wheel bearing was DRY, it squeaked when you turned it by hand, and the ball joint was worse. Sway bar endlinks are new now, the bushings actually touch the sway bar lol. It needs rear rotors yet, from sitting outside all winter they rusted up and both drag a bit when driving, you can hear them through the car (no interior makes everything louder). At least it drives straight and doesn't pull hard to the right when you brake anymore

Might hook up megasquirt next week and throw my nitrous kit in it just to see what a 100 shot will do. I have a feeling that it's already in the high 14's for good now so I'll have to sandbag to run 15.0 now, and I hate sandbagging. Or I'll just put the seats back in. :(
