Cigarette Ligher Fuse on a 2007 Chevy Cobalt Lt

I blew my cigarette lighter under the radio not the one behind the stick and I'm trying to find the fuse to replace it I checked the fuse box under the Hood and on the passenger side panel can any one help me find it or is there another fuse box I don't know about on a 2007 Chevy cobalt LT. Or if it is under the Hood fuse box or passenger side fuse box is there a different name for the fuse? Please help I'd like to fix it:/

Its actually under the hood, replaced it a few times already. (2006 cobalt LS)

I looked at the diagram and it said to use a 15 amp fuse, This is BS in my opinion, replace it with a 20 amp.

To find it, look at the fuse box cover, it says there which one it is.

Old Car: Chevy Cobalt 2006 LS Sedan base (Automatic)

New Car: Chevy Impala 2011 LT Fully Loaded (Automatic)

Thanks now how come u replaced with 20? N y dose the outlet behind the stick work but not the one under the stero

Underhood fuse block. Each outlet has it's own fuse.
I would stick with designated fuse. If you need more current and you keep burning the fuse use accessory outlet, it has bigger wire and a 20 amp fuse plus it is designed for higher current. Cigarette lighter outlet is designed for you guessed it a cigarette lighter. (15 amp) Earlier Cobalts had outlet in the trunk instead of center console hence the trunk outlet designation in fuse box.

I replaced it with a 20 because if I didn't it would keep blowing all the time, the wires are not going to burn before a 20 amp fuse, I actually use both of the 12V outputs at the same time most of the time and the 10 or 15 fuse is just not going to cut it, replacing with 20 will save you money on more fuses.

If you look closely at the accessory outlet you will notice that it is constructed differently and designed for 20 amp. Cigarette lighter was design for a cigarette lighter and 15 amp. If you want to use a 20 amp for your own car feel free to do so, but I wouldn't go as far as to suggest to others that it's Okay to do so. They might hunt you down if something happens. You might want to change the cigarette lighter outlet for an accessory one then you might be safe with 20a, but you will lose the cigarette lighter option if people still use these.

I don't smoke so I use both for charging my phone but I put a 15 in it to be safe

Honestly, Coby is right, but seriously, even with a 30a fuse, if I shorted the wires out intentionally, I'm pretty sure the fuse would burn before any wiring.

I'm not saying people should use a 20a fuse there, not even saying its ok, I'm just saying its a solution that worked for me, I've had it there for a few years and it has not caused me any grief, unlike the recommended/approve fuse rating.

I also do not smoke, I do not allow smoking in the car from smokers, so the cigarette lighter was one of the 1st things to go in my Balt.

It's not a short that burns wires, it would be a constant load of 19.5 amp. By the way what do you plug in the outlet that uses more than 15 amps anyway. Do you toast your bagels on the way to work a do you have a coffee maker on there. lol
