Windows Vista :)

My work laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1501, which has Vista Buisness 32-bit. I don't think that it's a bad operating system, it seems to have some really nice features on it.

I still enjoy my home computer better with XP Media Center Edt. A Dell XPS 400, the only upgrade that I had to do was an ATI 1600X 526MB graphic card.

bout 7 days ago Microsoft released its second pre-release of service pack 1 for vista
as in, it is still in testing mode but they are allowing the public to try it to help find out what is still buggy

i havnt done it yet, plan on ding it this weekend some time.

Possible bugs i have encountered:
Shutdown & Boot problems, system will not always shut down completely (system fans and stuffs will continue to run but video and basic I/O devices dont work, as well as system fails to boot completely after shutdowns and restarts, cases seem to be random)
System fails to return from locked status (after locking the computer: require password to continue use, i will loose basic I/O control and video forcing me to cut power and re-boot)
System fails to come back from standby and hibernate modes (similar problem as above)
Possible lack of multiple hard drive control (this could be casued by vista, the southbridge chip or i may even have a bad hard drive [requires further testing])

what a fun learning expierence this is :D
but this is the reason i built this computer, to see what sort of problems i could dig up from my normal/somewhat advanced use

so far i have not had any real software problems, i was even able to load Autocad LT 2002 and it seems to be running fine thus far. World Of Warcraft installed and runs great. Trend Micro's internet security suite is working great.
Bult in programs seem to be working fine (ive become somewhat adicted to one of the built in games called Ink Ball)
Im still exploring and learning the burried controls and options (and boy are they burried)
