hey while your at it why not get one of those mufflers off ebay that make a spool sound so people will think your twin charged haha. j/p man. i dont know of any way for you to add a REAL blow off valve. with the supercharger like it is...maybe if you had a centrifigual you could put one on but i'm still not sure it would work. i guess it would because your rpms don't shut right down as soon as you let off the gas so it should blow. just not have a purpose. but ya i'm sure they make fake ones for something like what you got but.. i'll just stop lol.

you can not... I repeat CAN NOT install a blow-off valve on the SS/SC. You should do some reading up on your engine and how it works before you try to modify it... roots type blowers are mounted directly to the intake manifold and are equipped with a bypass valve... therefore there is no place to install a blow-off valve... even if you wanted to.

Why is it that every n00b out there asks this question?

do you nkow how a blow off valve works and what it does.... when a turbo charged car shefts or revs(then lets off) the turbo is still trying to force in air. and if the engine rpms have droped it doesnt need that air... so the pressure builds up and opens a vavle and it releases.

in a supercharged car the belt on the motor (that spins with the motors RPMs) also spins the SC/blower so when your RMPs drop at the same time the speed of the blower will drop. it will alsways be secronized. there for no bov is needed or possible...

I blame it on the fast and the furious. Seriously before that movie came out the people I knew who had turbocharged cars could care less about the BOV it was just part of the whole system. No one went "sweet BOV". There is something about this new generation of car people that are just all over them. Maybe it's the riddelin?

So Mr. threadstarter your question has been answered. To elaborate further you can't use one and don't need one on a roots supercharger (or a twin screw for that matter) because the function of a BOV is to vent extra pressure between the compressor and the engine when the throttle body is closed. . This helps reduce what is called surging which can warp the fins on the compressor. Since roots type superchargers use rotors and not thin fins it is not needed because there is nothing to warp if the pressure is not released.
