The world's fastest car right now is the 2007 SSC Ultimate Aero 257.44 mph on the first lap, then 254.91 mph on the second lap, with an average of 256.18 mph in the Guinness book of world records! The 2008 model of the SSC is currently reporting 273 mph. O_O
