Serpentine Belt

Anybody ever replaced the drivebelt on a 2.2 engine with air....planning to do mine soon......is it quick and easy or hard on the knuckles............

Not a lot of room and you can't use a regular 3/8" power bar to spring the idler.

Thanks Coby7............so there's nothing to remove ....just release the tensionner and the belt is free.......

I changed the alternator in mine once, I removed the belt the usual way by releasing the tensioner. Its a little hard though, eat some canned spinach 1st lol

Check this thread, can't remember if you need to remove front engine mount but I don't think so.

Thank you very much Coby7...that thread gives me a good idea of what to expect when I do the job....that bar with the 3/8 drive on it looks like what i'll need

It is a complete bitch to change.

I ended up shoving a breaker bar vertically on a jack and using it to take torque off the tensioner so i could get the belt back on.
