Hi,

I am trying to figure what serpentine belt I should buy to replace my current one since it looks like its going to snap soon.

They will tell you that at the auto parts store, if you want a cheap one, ask for a cheap one, if you want a brand name, as for a brand name one.

Is is shredded from any of the sides?

I got an oil change from a place I never used before and they said mine needed to be replaced for $99. Not sure I trust them. My Cobalt has 64,000 miles on it.
Any way to tell if it needs it by how it affects driving?

If it has never been changed at 64000 miles you need a serpentine belt.

I'm waiting to see what improvements are coming to the '013 Cruze and Sonic. Also considering the Focus. I've got 3 grand in GM points, though, it would be tough to give those up even though not happy with GM right now.

Not happy with GM and you want to buy a FORD? Go for the Cruze, I tried it out and it's really nice. It is really a Daewoo Lacetti designed and manufactured in Korea. Assembled in the USA under the nameplate Cruze.
