Who was the jerk? Only the high brake light comes on without key. Tail brakes only come on with ignition on. Who needs brake lights when the car is already stopped anyways. Go to a real mechanic.

To be fair, I thought there was a problem when I first saw it. But I could have sworn that my right side brake light came on but the left didnt. Turns out it was just the sun angle making look like it was on compared to the left tail light.

My Silverado does not work the same way, the brake lights will come on whether or not the key is in the ignition which through me for a loop at first.

I am waiting for an inspection mechanic to come to me and say they are not working and I can give him the look like did you turn the key? haha.
