Steering trouble ?

I just bought a 2007 with 1000 miles .. a person I work with has a 2006 and said his steering has never felt solid... I went to the web and emmediatley found dozens of people who said the electric steering had COMLETELY QUIT while they were driving, some had crashed. GM does no acknowledge the problem. Any of you had stering failures ? thanks.

no issues here, but you better believe GM would be covering any and all damages!
