My new rotors finally shipped. I'll be putting on sometime this week along with a set of ceramic brake pads. I'll let all Know how it goes.

The dealer already resurfaced my rotors when I had around 250 miles on the car. I thought that was strang. I wasn't really having an issue with them. I was there because they filled the car with gas that had water in it so my car was running like crap. When they told me they resurfaced the rotors I asked why. They really didn't have a reason for it. LOL

arent you the same guy who said that they are not "compatible with the car"?

you cant mess up a car by just putting rims on it.as i said before, if the rims werent meant for the car, they wouldnt fit ti begin with. it is another underlying issue with the car.

Go back and check all your lug-nuts and make sure they're tight and that they're tightened to the correct torque. I had a similar problem with another car several years ago and the installers tightened the nuts way too tight. Also try rotating the wheels; sometimes (I can't explain why) an aftermarket wheel will cause a vibration in one location, but not another.

Don't know if this has been mentioned yet but make sure you remove your factory rotor holding clips. They slip over the wheel studs and hold the discs on when the car is moving down the assembly line, that's really the only reason I can think of for them. Anyways, your stock wheels has a cutout in the back face of them to clear this thin piece of sheetmetal, your aftermarket ones don't. When I had mine mounted the morons didn't pull them off and the whole car was shaking like a ***** when I hit the brakes. I doubt you could get the wheel studs tight enough to warp the rotors unless you're completely incompetent, I thought the idiots at Americas Tire Co did that to mine but turns out they had them at 100 ft/lbs with the clips still on there.

I'm giving up... Ok, so I put my new rotors and brake pads on today. It didn't fix the problem. I still get the vibration while brakeing. I'm kinda at a loss here. I've checked and double checked everything. The factory retaining clips were already taken off so I figured it was the rotors. SO, I bought new rotors and ceramic brake pads and installed them today. And yes I retorqued all of the lug nuts. I'm going to put the factory steelies on for a test run when I get a chance to see if it is my New rims causeing the problem..

The problem is the Rotors ...The Cobalts are notorious for coming with warped rotors....if i were you i would just upgrade the front rotors to a larger drille/ slotted rotor...by doing this it allows you brakes to run cooler and let them breathe since you have upgraded to larger wheels you will need bigger stopping power

That's what I did. I put a set of drilled slotted rotors on and ceramic pads. Still have the vibration.

Have you had an alignment done? Are you sure the wheels are balanced?

it might also be the amount of thread engagement your getting with the lugs...i have the same problem and thats the only thing i can think of thats not right...i only get about four turns with each lug nut and it should be more like 6 to 8

not sure if that is related just thought it might be possible
