Programming of Remote Keyless Entry FOB

Hi,
I have 2009 Chevy Cobalt LT. I bought a new remote keyless entry FOB. Does anybody has experience with programming of it? How can I do it myself? or any other cheaper way to do this? FYI: Dealer is asking $50 for programming.

Thanks
YB

You're lucky dealers here charge $100. Some automotive locksmiths might be able to do for cheaper

You may just want to put your old electronics in new keypads.

My FOB (RKE) problem was only the trunk and red alarm button worked in the last year. Evidently the buttons were just worn out because I came across this site tonight and tried the aluminum airduct tape punchouts. It worked! Fix for Cobalt Remote Key If Only Some Buttons Are Not Working
