Your problem is not your clutch. You dont even need to let it warm up(even though i do because im anal). Just dont try to force it into gear this could ruin you tranny and linkages/synchro's like other cobalt owners on this website. Your tranny is still tight(like new...low miles) so guide it into the wanted gear. If it wont go in easily then choose another gear first so it moves/adjusts the gears THEN choose the desired gear. It should go in fairly easy. This just helps to line up the helical gears. If it doesnt go in after one try repeating the steps with a diff. gear. My balt has done this since it was new and i like it because i know my tranny is still tight and i KNOW when it is in gear. Ive driven sloppy cars where the gears just fall into place(cough honda toyota......) so just take your time. It doent sound like you have a tranny or clutch problem.

It could be a faulty slave cylinder. Contamination of the fluid could also be the cause. Brake/ clutch or DOT3 what ever you want to call it does draw moisture. I noticed in a few of the cars I've worked on, when cold the piston in the slave cylinder will stick. How is the pedal feeling when this is happening??? Do you have the same pressure cold as warm?
