normal clutch mileage

I noticed that some people are having issues with getting normal mileage out of their clutches on this site and now im kinda worried. I figured after all these years of mechanical technolgy and improvements that the AVERAGE vehicle would get at least 100,000 miles out of their stock clutch under average use. But is seems many cobalt owners are seeing less than half these miles. So i was just curious if every one can post how many miles they have put on their factory clutch, how it feels now compared to new, and if you might have unfortunatly already replaced it. This might give me and some of the rest of us an idea of what to expect out of a cobalt clutch. Thanks

I've got an 05 SS/SC with 71k and the clutch still feels ok, I like to go WOT when entering the freeway, go for the hole shot when the light turns green, kinda dangerous if the cross traffic doesn't stop. Other than that I just go with the flow of traffic and shift at 3k........

06 ss/na, already installed a new clutch due to the other one biting the dust:(, 29k miles(converted from 49k km)

what i heard was when GM came out with the cobalt, they made a stupid move, unlike what ford did with the focus(using knowledge from the escort as a base), GM did no such thing with the cobalt.........they threw away the plans for the cavalier, all the years of R&D that went into making the cavalier, all the mistakes, and learning curves, gone.

they practically started from scratch with our rides, thus all the issues we are having

well I have 10k on my SS/SC with tons of runs at the track and the clutch is still hanging in there. It went through a period where it was slipping alot at the top of first but I just drove it harder and it came out of it. lol

Ya I'm not burning the clutch all that much, it's always pretty smooth driving, do you know of Cobalt meets up here, even near where you are, I'm willing to travel a good ways to meet up with other enthousiasts
