Angry 2nd gear blown at 10,000 miles?
 
hi! am a new member and like the site! anyone know of problems with the 5 speed? i have a 2007 ls and it always shifted great till last week. it started grinding on shifts into 2nd and now 2nd is nomore.

Take that bad boy back to the dealership and have them take a look at it ..

already at the dealer just seeing if other people had that problem so they couldnt try to screw me! ha ha they just called said some plastic pad broke causing 2nd not to engauge all the way then the syncro burnt up and i bent the shift fork. but they ordering all the parts should only be a few days till its fixed and i can pick my rental up at any time. score me 1 dealer 0

manual? I've seen this happenening on her a lot. I have not had any problems with my trans.

My 07 LS has 13,000 miles and I have had no issues at all with it

I've got an 06 with almost 31,000 on the clock and so far no problems (knock on wood)

Shift fork guide pads usually fall off or wear out if you are rough with the shifter, power shifting, leaving the weight of your hand on it alot, shifting without the clutch and without rev matching. That said, anything can be defective so dont take offense if you baby your car, I jus got the idea that you didnt since you were k"keeping" score versus the dealer

Welcome lilredcoupe1 to the forum.

That scares me, I've got 6,000 miles on my 07' LT with no problems what-so-ever thus far. And like mentioned ^^^^ knock on wood!
