Irritated!!

i bought the cosmo short throw for my 2.4L cobalt. after i put it in, i realised that it did seem centered. i mean my 2nd gear is right in the middle of my shift area????? i was wondering if anyone has this problem and if you did, what did you do to fix it?? i kno this shifter is for the ion, do you think that has something to do with it?

any advice is appreciated. its really buggin me

A little off topic i know, but why the hell would you want your cobalt to look like a cobra? That seems completely ridiculous and a waste of what is probably a lot of money.

Problem could be it's for the Ion but I think the Cobalt/G5/Ion are almost mechanically identical. Either that or you botched the install or the quality of the part sucks. I've never heard of the Cosmo shifter kit and I've been around the Cobalt forums for a couple years.
