can't tow with manual transmission?!?!?!?

hey everyone. i just purchased a dirt bike and was hoping to get a trailer to haul it on. when i looked in my owners manual it says i cant tow a trailer cause i have a manual transmission. why is that? i have an 08 cobalt ls sedan.

you can tow with the manual transmission, contrary to the owner's guide(but only if the weight underceeds the amount listed as towing capacity). i see no harm in towing a lightweight trailer and a dirtbike with a cobalt 5 speed LS

a dirt bike has no weight to it really compared to a car,you should be good to go anyways.

I dont think you should have any problems with towing a dirtbike.

thats what i say. i called the service department at the dealer that i got the car at and they said they dont see a problem either as long as u dont go over 1000 lbs. even with 2 dirtbikes and a trailer id be under that. thanx for all ur help.
