Question About the Trans

I was wondering if this transmission will mount up to my car or not. I have a 2007 Ls 2.2L 5speed

Cobalt G5 5 speed w/ LSD 55563239 - Crate Engine Depot

Any help would be great before i go spending money where it isn't needed

The ad says it is for the Cobalt and G5 so it must not be a SC trans -- sounds like it should fit.

Just to be sure call them tomorrow 1-800-441-5150 and ask them. They'd know better then we would..lol!

Well i have already sent them an email and they said that they didnt know if it would bolt up or not, and told me to go to a cobalt forum (which i am thankful that i am already a member of) and ask around on there. So is there anyone that might know with 100% sureness that this will bolt up?

I haven't heard of anyone installing a 2.0 MU3 tranny into a 2.2 or 2.4 equipped cobalt yet.

Here are the part numbers for the trannies in the GM parts database I have:

PN 12581400, 5 spd, M86, 2.2, 2.4
PN 55560937, 5 spd, MU3, 2.0
PN 55560938, 5 spd, MU3, 2.0 G85 limited slip

I can't find the part number of the one in your post above -- it might be a new number for the one I have listed.
