YC.com - Change in Ownership |
|
Sep 01, 2010 - 6:51 AM - by Admin
|
Hey everyone. I wanted to make an announcement regarding YourCobalt.com. I have been working with the good people at AutoGuide.com to make a transition of ownership. Although the site is officially being transferred over to them, our moderator staff will still remain the same. Additionally, there are no plans to make any major changes to the site. The goal is to keep the atmosphere the same as it has always been.
The good news is, AutoGuide will be able to provide 24/7 support for the site and hopefully bring some new features and additions to the site. I will continue to be an Administrator on the site so I won't be leaving everyone.
I started this site about 6 years ago and have watched it grow into a thriving community. We've had some ups and downs however I still believe this is the best Cobalt community on the web. I wanted to personally thank all of you for making YC.com what it is today.

This is the official Your Cobalt of the Month thread for September 2010. Entry is free and entry is easy. If you would like to compete for this month's "Your Cobalt of the Month", here's how:
1) Make sure you have created a "Vehicle Showoff" profile. If you have not, please go here and do so first: Vehicle Showoff
2) Once you have a "Vehicle Showoff" profile made, you can enter into the contest. To do so, just reply to this thread with a link to your "Vehicle Showoff" profile.
3) After the deadline, a voting thread will be made and the members will vote for the "Your Cobalt of the Month". The winner will be announced officially once the month is over.
4) There is a cap of a maximum of 15 entries.
Note: Previous winners cannot re-enter for YCOTM.
GOOD LUCK!
Deadline for entry is September 20th or when we have 15 entries (Which ever comes first).

Every Member Needs To Read This (Extension of Site Rules) |

Just a few things that I believe need to be covered and reviewed.
In the past few months I have noticed "post whoring" and "Off Topic posts" getting really bad around here.
Post Whoring = Post whoring is somebody who posts mostly meaningless messages consisting of one word or just emoticons. They have an unsaid ability to magically appear in any thread at any given time to add crucial arguements to the debate at hand. These said crucial arguements include ground-breaking conjectures such as "what," "oh," or a curiously little smilie who is blue, and yet neither happy nor sad.
Off Topic Posts = Now by this I do not mean posts in the Off Topic Chat Forum. You can go on about what ever you want to there, because lets face it, nothing "important" is talked about there.
What I am talking about is, If a member makes a new thread about "LED's" and members are posting in it, and are holding a "conversation" about what they were doing at work today, that has absolutely nothing to do with the topic of the thread. This is no... [Read More]
