Fish Stories?

Some of these mileage stories sound a tad exaggerated, like the size of the fish one catches. I get around 31 mpg combination city/highway in an XFE 5-Speed. Synthetic oil seems to help a little, and it's sure easier starting in the winter. If I got out of my car and pushed it, I'd get fabulous gas mileage!

when im on the highway i get like 6L/100km 90% of the way unless some idiots get in the way of my flow. It's the city driving that kills, but even then i'm thinkin maybe average 7L/100km. dont feel like converting it to mpg. Average on my computer last week was around 6.4-6.5L/100km, which is probably somewhere between 35-40mpg. But i do mostly highway driving and not much city.

not exaggeratin there, why would i even wanna lie about that. it's good, but i dont get that all the time. usually i'll get a week like that, then the next week i'll average like 7L/100km.
I have an 09xfe by the way.
Still think my car's gas mileage kicks ass.

I have no idea how you can do this, on a flat roadtrip through Saskatchewan not driving fast around 100 km/h at about 2000 rpm's I was still at 6.5-7L/100km...In the city Im around 8.5-9 and when I drive like an idiot I'm up to 10

i know its crazy...what year/model is yours? same as mine? i usually merge onto the highway then get up to 110-115km/h then just keep my foot on the pedal at instantaneous 6L/100km. This keeps me at constant speed or accelerating slightly on flat road. If there is a good enough incline I'll have to go up to 7 for a bit.
If you really want i can take pics and vids, but you prolly dont care enough to make me do that lol.

Keep in mind that I travel right now 1 hour to work and 1 hour back, and about 50 minutes of that drive is highway or high speed limit roads.

Haha no I didnt notice you had an XFE until after I posted, that would be worth the difference because of anyone else I know that has a balt around here I get the averaged MPG and its alot higher than yours....maybe the XFE is worth it

yeah, well i didnt pay extra for the xfe...it was the showroom one and it was ls xfe...i payed ls sticker price....

It's supposed to be tuned differently and stuff in order to maximize mpg. Wtv im happy with it, it's sporty yet efficient, and i can't wait to mod this bad boy to make it more badass!

Highest I got it was 37 on a 2.2 09 LS... Lowest was 26.4 after doing some crazy driving. I drive 70% highway, curvy and hilly highway with lots of traffic interruptions that kills my mpg. I started hypermiling pretty good so I hope I can get the avg back to 35.

It's not just the XFE. Us TC drivers typically get better highway mileage than the LS/LT guys - I can average 6L/100km (39mpg) if I don't drive like an asshat.
