Headers Hurt Mpg?

I got suggested to put headers and a full magnaflow exhaust on my cobalt ls 4 door so it wouldnt be a granny car anymore but do the headers with the exhaust hurt my mpg? i dont want to compromise with my fuel economy

Umm...

Well, think of it this way: if it's easier to get the exhaust out, it's more efficient. More efficient = better gas mileage.

well how come trucks with headers and exhausts use more fuel and lose fuel economy?

Because if you have headers and exhaust you want to hear it so you stomp on the gas.

First.. you dont have headers. You have 1 exhaust manifold. 2 you are so obsessed with people thinking you drive a granny car.. trade it in. Almost all BASE models of any car are considered grocery getters or "grandma" cars. Lower it, put some rims on it, make it different then the rest and you will be out of that catagory.

everyone has thier own opinion. for me just stay away from gigantic mufflers, gaudy body kits, and huge wings, retarted amounts of stickers, stick on vents and scoops. thats just a little list of things that piss me off.
