Allowing your car to get as much of a free flowing air and exhaust is going to get you better gas mileage. And a tune will technically give you a little better mpg. The thing is, if you spend 1000 on supporting mods and a tune, its going to take you a LONG time to make up the small amount of money you'd save on gas

What is wrong with running 10:1 on fi? I'm running that on my EVO build, and ran 10.5:1 on my talons.

lol "blow up a crank"...

Tell me how 10:1 compression is pushing it?

We do junkyard 9.5:1 builds with mid to high 20's on pump gas with pretty decent mid 11's AFR on the 3800's.

It's all in the tune.

I actually built an SRT-4 skittle in KY that was 10.5:1 CR, with a 2.7L stroker done with it, and a Precision 6266 turbo pushing almost 40psi of boost out of it with 1 degree of knock randomly around the rpm band. That car at 80mph in 4th gear would spin the tires at WOT with street tires. Without a dyno for actual numbers, we all guess him to be right around 950ish whp. But, he was also running constant c16. with that kind of CR, there is no sense in running 93 oct. It's all about 110/e85/c16/alcohol based fuel at that point, especially if you're planning on running a decent amount of boost.
